Maarten VanZevenbergen, 80, passed away Friday,
Oct. 1, 2010. He was born Oct. 27, 1929, to Gerrit and Petronella
VanZevenbergen in Rotterdam, Holland.
Martin came to the United States on March 5, 1957,
a date he celebrated every year. He and fellow Dutchman, Jan Van Dam,
operated a janitorial business in Waukesha for many years and then Martin
became a custodian for the Waukesha School District. At the time of his
retirement, he was the head custodian at Horning Middle School.
Martin will be remembered for his sense of humor,
his love of family, his love of life and his love of country. He felt
voting and serving on a jury was a privilege and never shirked his duty.

daughter, Elly McHenry, and her children, Cale, Michele, Ben, Colleen and
David; his son, Michael VanZevenbergen, and his children, Sadie and Carly;
his son and daughterin-law, Jay and Michelle McSorley, and their children,
Ian, Lucy, Athena, Oliver and Finley; his son and daughterin-law, Marc and
Heather McSorley, and their children, Connor and Olivia; his greatgrandson,
Roan McHenry; and great-granddaughter, Charley Bentfield.
Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until the 4
p.m. memorial service Saturday, Oct. 16, at Randle-Dable Funeral Home,
1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha.
