Myrle W. Huenink
April 7, 1917 – Oct. 11, 2010
Myrle W. Huenink of Waukesha died Monday,
Oct. 11, 2010, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in Union Grove at the age of
93. He was born April 7, 1917, the son of William A. and Anna (nee
DeBruine) Huenink.
Myrle was a graduate of Cedar Grove Memorial Academy and a 1946 graduate
of Carroll College, where he received degrees in theology and philosophy.
Myrle proudly served in the U.S. Army, where he retired as a major. In
1947, he married his wife, Lauretta (Wiedenhoeft) Huenink. He worked for
many years as a systems analyst for Waukesha Motor Works until his
retirement in 1979. Myrle was a member of the Oldtimers at Waukesha
Engine, a member of the Toastmasters and a faithful member of First
Presbyterian Church, where he participated in the Bible study program.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Lauretta of Union Grove; his son,
Richard (Gladys) Huenink of Waukesha; his daughter, Kathleen (Kurt) Debus
of East Dundee, Ill.; his seven grandchildren, John (Katherine) Huenink of
Waukesha, Heather (Matthew) Hull of Dubuque, Iowa, William Huenink of
Glendale, Ariz., Benjamin (Catherine Whetzel) Debus of Ferndale, Mich.,
Megan Debus of Columbus, Ga., Samuel Debus of Goodyear, Ariz., and Bailey
Debus of East Dundee, Ill.; and his six great-grandchildren, Meg, Lucy and
Cooper Huenink, and Foster, Owen and Merrick Hull. He is further survived
by his sister, June Claerbaut of Oostburg, along with nieces, nephews,
other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ken
and Harold; and his sister, Pearl Nyenhuis.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the 4 p.m. funeral service
Sunday, Oct. 17, at First Presbyterian Church, 810 N. East Ave., Waukesha.
The Rev. Dee Talley will preside. Full military honors will follow the
service at the church.
