Vera Marie Romblom

Vera Marie Romblom of Waukesha died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010, at her home at
the age of 86. She was born Sept. 14, 1924, in Mackinaw City, Mich., the
daughter of Howard and Clara (Johnston) Smith.
She graduated from Mackinaw City High School in 1942. She married Larry
Romblom in 1943. She was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in
Milwaukee. She has served as a member of the Christian Education Board and
Deacon Board. She also taught Sunday school and was a treasurer. She was
also a member of Linda Lodge and the Swedish American Historical Society.
Vera worked for Century Fence between 1968 and 1986 as an executive
secretary.
She was the blessed mother of two boys, Edward (Esther) and Raymond
(Linda); grandmother of David, Erica, Emily, Michael, Andrew and Eric; and
step-grandmother of Jeff and Elizabeth Walker. She is further survived by
other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry, on Nov. 11, 1992; and two
brothers, James and Earl.
Visitation will take place from 5:30 p.m. until the 8 p.m. funeral service
Wednesday, Oct. 20, at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave.,
Waukesha. The Rev. Michael DeLong will be presiding. Interment will be
held at Pinehill Cemetery in Cheboygan, Mich.
