Georgia Mae Hunkins (nee Close)

Georgia Mae Hunkins (nee Close) of Waukesha passed
away in the early morning hours of Monday, Oct. 18, 2010, following an
illness. She was 84.
Georgia was born in Waukesha on July 19, 1926, a
daughter of the late Charles and Georgia (nee Heiser) Close. She attended
local schools and was a lifelong resident of the area. Georgia was married
to William J. Hunkins Jr. and together they raised six children. She was a
devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She will be sadly missed.
Georgia will be sadly missed by her children,
Ellie (Dick) Zimmerman of Mukwonago, Arnold Hunkins of Waukesha, Rose
Chopp of Oconomowoc, Shorty (Teresa) Hunkins of Waukesha, Jerry Hunkins of
Waukesha and Tammy (Keith) Durand of Rhinelander. She will also be
remembered by her grandchildren, Jenny (Chris) Danks of Waukesha, Keith
(Monica) Hunkins of Waukesha, Kevin Hunkins of Waukesha, Alex and Rebecca
Durand of Rhinelander, and five greatgrandchildren, Andrew, Logan,
Catalina, Kaiden and Victoria. She also leaves her brother, Charles
(Margaret) Close, and sisters, Ethel Smith and Mary (Zane) Dodge. She is
further survived by other relatives and friends.
Georgia was preceded in death by her husband;
parents; brothers, Willard Hine and Donald Close; and sisters, Adeline
Hein, Faye Johnson, Hazel Falk, Mildred Yount and Vera Groff.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the 3
p.m. funeral service Thursday, Oct. 21, at Cesarz, Charapata &
Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. A private burial
will be held at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield.
