Barbara
Imig Foster, 75, died peacefully at home in Sammamish, Wash., on Friday,
Sept. 17, 2010, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Foster, and his wife, Catherine Foster, and grandchildren, Brady, Luke and
Lexi of Concord, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Terence Foster; brother, Charles
Imig; and sister, Margaret Imig.
Born in Waukesha on Feb. 6, 1935, to Edith and Wilbur Imig, she was raised
by her mother Edith, brother Charlie and Aunt Hazie.
Barbara completed her education in Waukesha, undergraduate studies at
Florida Southern, and then graduated from Northwestern University’s
School of Nursing. Her spirit of compassion and caring manifested itself
in her chosen career of nursing.
From Chicago, she moved to New York City where she met her husband,
Terence. She then moved with Terence and her two small children (Anne and
Andrew) to Brussels, Belgium.
She lost her husband to an early death in Belgium and then single-handedly
raised her two children in Arlington Heights, Ill., where she resumed her
nursing career.
Upon retirement from nursing, she moved to Sammamish to be closer to her
family.
At every stage of her life, she made an impact on those around her and
developed a very strong network of friends that remain to this day. In her
caring, compassionate and loving manner, her legacy will live forever in
all the people she touched.
Words cannot describe how much you will be missed. We love you and thank
you for your impact on all of our lives!
