James
O. "Snake" Leipski, 65, born July 15, 1945, found peace with
dignity and grace Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010.
James was was born and raised in Waukesha, and was a resident of
Clearwater, Fla., since 2006.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margret J. Hurst; and brothers,
Herman and Harvey.
He is survived by his sons, James C. and Andrew (Deb), and sisters,
Shirley "Daisy" (Bob) Pettis and Ruth (the late Bob) Schlimgen.
He was the proud grandpa of eight grandchildren. James is further survived
by many other family and friends.
James was a Waukesha police sergeant until becoming paralyzed in 1980. He
then became a strong advocate for the disabled with the Paralyzed Veterans
of America and Independent First. He volunteered at Christ the Lord
Lutheran Church in Florida. He managed to overcome many hardships in his
life. His family, friends and his faith always pulled him through. He was
a very proud man, father, husband and Marine. He will be forever missed.
A burial will be held at a later date in Wisconsin at Prairie Home
Cemetery. Abbey Affordable Cremations served the family.
