Dec. 7, 1939 – Oct. 24, 2010

Louis J. "Louie" Marten of Wales died Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010, at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital at the age of 70. Louie was born Dec. 7, 1939, the son of Arnold and Mae (nee Post) Marten.

On June 10, 1961, he married the love of his life, Lou Eckelberg. Louie worked as a machinist for Capital Engineering for more than 30 years. He was a longtime member of the Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wales. Louie proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. His greatest joy was spending time with his wife, daughters and granddaughters.

Louie will be deeply missed by his wife, Lou; daughters, Laurie Bartz (Rueben Roe) of Oconomowoc and Lynn (Brent) Bartlett of Dousman; granddaughters, Autumn and Emily; and sister, Lorraine Garner of Tomah. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Dorothy.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the noon funeral service Wednesday, Oct. 27, at Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 470 N. Oak Crest Drive, Wales, WI 53183. The Rev. Allen Behnke will be officiating. Burial will be held at Salem Cemetery in Wales.
