Wellington W. Meissner

Wellington W. Meissner, 93, of Hobbs, N.M., passed away Thursday, Oct. 21,
2010, at home. He was born Dec. 21, 1916, in the Town of Lisbon, to
William and Ida Meissner, as the ninth of 10 children. He married E.
Marjorie Olson-Meissner on May 17, 1947, in Boscobel.
His wife, parents and eight siblings precede him in death.
He is survived by his brother, Darwin, and sister-in-law, Hazel, of
Hartland; daughter, Kristin M. Kohrt, and son-in-law, Rick of Hobbs; and
grandchildren, Nicole Moore and husband John of Bethesda, Md., and Bradley
Kohrt of Chicago.
Known as Ton, Duke or Gramps, he was loved by all who came to know his
warm and quiet ways. Ton retired from the Waukesha County Highway
Department as an assistant superintendent after 35 years of service. He
resided in Waukesha for many years, moved to Granger, Ind., in 1998, and
to Hobbs in 2008 to be near family. He enjoyed gardening, traveling and
baseball.
Visitation will take place from 10 a.m. until the 11:30 a.m. funeral
service today, Oct. 26, at Schmidt & Bartelt A.A. Schmidt & Sons
Funeral Home, W250-N6505 Highway 164, Sussex. A private burial will take
place at Boscobel Cemetery.
