Christine E. Pawlak
July 24, 1915 – Aug. 29, 2010
Christine E. Pawlak (nee Bodus), 95, died
Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010, at Virginia Health & Rehabilitation Center. She
was born on July 24, 1915, in Milwaukee, to Walter and Anna Bodus.
Christine was a charter member of St. Matthias Catholic Church, Milwaukee,
where she participated with the Christian Mothers, volunteered at the fish
fries and sang in the choir. She served as a Girl Scout leader and den
mother for Cub Scouts. Christine was an avid baseball fan, she loved to
attend games at Borchert field and liked to play bingo. She enjoyed baking
homemade treats for her family to enjoy. On June 24, 1939, she married
Sigmund Pawlak, and he preceded her in death in 1984.
She is survived by her six loving children, Stephen (Carolyn) Pawlak,
James (Barbara) Pawlak, Eugene (Lucrecia) Pawlak, Ramona Bosch, Kathleen
(John) Fucile and Michael (Mary) Pawlak; 28 grandchildren; and 26
greatgrandchildren. She is further survived by four sisters-inlaw,
Elizabeth Bodus, Rose Chepeck, Clara Berndt and Elizabeth Pawlak; and
nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Sigmund Pawlak, she was preceded
in death by her daughter, Rosemarie Pawlak on Oct. 11, 1956;
great-grandson, Ari Panico; brothers, Joseph Bodus, Ralph Bodus, Eugene
Bodus and Daniel Bodus; and a sister, Martha (Joseph) Zajac.
Visitation will be held from from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3, with a
rosary service at 6 p.m., at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand
Ave., Waukesha. Visitation continues from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Saturday,
Sept. 4, at St. Matthias Catholic Church, 9306 W. Beloit Road, Milwaukee.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow the
Mass at St. Adalbert Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at Virginia Health
& Rehabilitation Center for the compassionate care given to Christine
over the years.
