Frederick ‘Fritz’ C. Dowling
April 19, 1930 – Sept. 2, 2010
Frederick “Fritz” C. Dowling, 80, of Waukesha, passed away in the
afternoon hours of Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, at AngelsGrace Hospice in
Oconomowoc. He was surrounded by family.
Fritz was born in Waukesha on April 19, 1930, a son of the late Paul and
Augusta (Yopps) Dowling. He attended local schools and was a lifelong
resident of the area. He was married to Patricia “Patty” (Furrer) in
1950 and together they raised four children. Fritz was employed as a lab
technician for International Harvester and was proud to have worked for
the company for more than 45 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman,
and also enjoyed tending to his garden and canning. He loved anything
outdoors and especially enjoyed attending annual air shows with his son.
He will be sadly missed.
Fritz is survived by his loving wife of more than 60 years, Patty of
Waukesha; and his children, Susan (David) Krug of Florida, Paula Turk
and Terri (Jeff) Schoenecker, all of Waukesha, and Fred Dowling of
Oconomowoc. He will also be remembered by his grandchildren, Jason and
Joel Krug and Lindsay Turk; as well as by his great-granddaughter,
Stella Rose Krug; and nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, at
Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd.,
Waukesha, WI 53188.
Private entombment will be in Prairie Home Cemetery.
