Douglas M. Stone

Douglas M. Stone of Waukesha passed away Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010, at the age of 89. He was born in Flint, Mich., on May 1, 1921, the son of the late Edward P. and Lura (nee Markle).

Douglas was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Pearl Marie (nee Renauld), and precious children, Douglas M. Jr. and Michael N.

He will be fondly remembered by his children, Robert D. (Donna), Joseph G., Marie A. (Boyd) Monheim, Douglas J. (Cynthia) and Joanne S. (Todd) Hansen, along with many grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, brother-inlaw, other relatives and friends.

Douglas was a proud member of the U.S. Marine Corps and worked many years as a machinist. After retiring, he gained recognition for his dedicated volunteerism at the Food Pantry of Waukesha County.

A memorial visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 6:15 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 380 W. Bluemound Road (at highways J and JJ, four blocks south of Interstate 94), Waukesha, followed by a sharing of memories at 6:30 p.m. A private inurnment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waukesha.
