Barbara A. Mielke, 67, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital with her daughter by her side. She was born March 8, 1943, the daughter of the late Raymond and Eleanor Malley.

Barbara loved her collection of zebras and other African artifacts. When she wasn’t on the hunt for new items to add to her collection, you could find her watching judge shows, cooking shows and numerous game shows.

She was the dear mother of Lucinda (James) Herman and Christopher (Carmen) Mielke of Waukesha. Barbara is further survived by her special friend, Jim Parker, and his daughters, the late Karen Cordes and Jill (Robert Kennedy) Douglas, along with their families, Jamie Cordes, Corinne Reed, Sean Cordes, and Shalimar (Jimi) Rydzik and their children, Olivia and Jemma Rydzik.

A gathering of friends and family will be held from 2 p.m. until the 3 p.m. memorial service Saturday, Sept. 11, at Mealy’s Funeral Home, 320 W. Main St., Palmyra.

Barbara’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the Purity Dialysis team at Watertown Memorial Hospital, the staff in the heart care unit at Waukesha Memorial Hospital, and Dr. Mark Carey for the wonderful care and encouraging words.
