John
A. "Jack" Griffin Jr., who founded Jack Griffin Ford in Waukesha
50 years ago, found eternal peace Friday, Sept. 3, 2010, at home at the
age of 83.
He was the beloved husband of Margaret (nee Mannion) for 58 years; the
loving father of Terese (David) Griffin-Groebe, James (Kristie) Griffin,
Margaret (Bernard) Hincks, John A. (Corrine) Griffin III, Mary (John)
Griffin-Komp, Sharon (Michael) Pilgrim and the late Robert and Amy
Griffin; proud grandfather of 15 and great-grandfather of two; dearest
uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Jack was an entrepreneur that loved the car business. He loved buying and
selling cars and parts. He found his passion at the dealership, where his
staff knew and loved him. Jack served on both the Ford Dealer’s
Advertising Board and on the Wisconsin Automobile Dealer Truck
Association. Throughout his career, he was frequently recognized and won
many awards.
Visitation was held Monday, Sept. 6, at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 W.
103rd St., Oak Lawn, Ill. A second visitation was held Tuesday, Sept. 7,
at Becker-Ritter Funeral Home, 14075 W. North Ave., Brookfield. A Mass of
Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. today, Sept. 8, at St. John
Neumann Parish, 2400 W. Highway 59, Waukesha, followed by graveside
services at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
