Alfred ‘Buddy’ A. Haberkorn, 69, of Watertown, formerly of Jefferson, passed away Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010, at Bethesda Lutheran Communities in Watertown.

He was born in Watertown on Dec. 30, 1940, son of the late Bernard "Ben" and Wilhelmina (Meitner) Haberkorn.

Buddy was a member of the St. Coletta Family from June of 1966 until his move to the Bethesda Communities in February of 2009. He was an active member of the St. Coletta Community for more than 43 years, working in their work programs.

He will be deeply missed by his sisters, Dorothy Reinke of Waukesha and Rita (Robert) Lemminger of Menomonee Falls; sister-inlaw, Leola Haberkorn of Watertown; brother-in-law, Roy Haberman of Waterloo; 14 nieces and nephews, Karen Jovanovich, Joanne (Norman) Chaput, Jay (Elizabeth) Haberkorn, David (Susan) Peschel, Barbara (Rick) Lischka, Lynnette (Roy) Pooler, Roger (Maribel) Haberkorn, Judy (James) Tyrer, Gene Haberkorn, Claudia (Victor) Imrie, Clifford (Susan) Haberman, Ronald (Sandra) Lenz, Steven (Catherine) Lemminger and Dale (Renee) Lemminger; 27 great-nieces and great-nephews; and 16 great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Joseph, Clarence, Edward and Francis; four sisters, Margaret Peschel, Lorraine Haberman, Mary Lenz and Dolores (Sr. Lorita S.S.N.D) Haberkorn; three brothers-in-law, George Peschel, Floyd Lenz and Robert Reinke; two sisters in-law, Janice Haberkorn and Blanche Haberkorn; nephew, Gus Jovanovich; and a niece, Kim Haberkorn.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the 3 p.m. funeral service Thursday, Sept. 30, at the Chapel on the Bethesda Campus, 600 Hoffmann Drive, Watertown, WI 53094. With the Rev. Michael Schempf officiating, burial will follow in St. Henry’s Cemetery in Watertown.

Memorials are preferred to be given in Buddy’s name to St. Coletta of Wisconsin or to Bethesda Lutheran Communities.
