Oct. 28, 1921 – Sept. 26, 2010

Bernis Rachel Anderson, 88, passed away Sunday, Sept. 26, 2010. She was born Oct. 28, 1921, to Rachel and Orson Williams in the town of Pewaukee.

Bernis is survived by her son, Kevin Hansen; daughter, Kim (Jerry) Thomasen; granddaughters, Ashley and Meggan Thomasen; niece, Janet (Merfyn) Hughes; nephew, Bruce (Cindy) Williams; sistersin-law, Dorthea Hansen and Carol Larson; as well as other relatives and friends.

Bernis was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Hansen, second husband, James Anderson; her sister, Helen Williams; twin brother, Burton (Joyce) Williams; and her parents.

Bernis graduated from Carroll College and taught high school for several years. She also worked in various capacities in the secretarial field. In later years Bernis was a Walmart greeter.

Bernis loved to write, sing, and dance. She was a terrific baker as well. Animals, especially dogs, were close to her heart. Bernis was truly a special lady!

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. celebration of life Sunday, Oct. 3, at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Oconomowoc. A private burial will be at Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha.

Memorials are suggested to Linden Court Waukesha in memory of Bernis Anderson.
