Mildred T. Davis

March 10, 1921 - April 2, 2011

Mildred T. "May" Davis of Waukesha passed away Saturday, April 2, 2011, at Oak Hill Terrace at the age of 90. She was born in Hill City, Minn., Verdon Township, on March 10, 1921, the daughter of George Washington and Bertha Louise (nee Lehman) Osgood.

The family moved to Superior in 1924, where Mildred lived until Dec. 29, 1938, when she was united in marriage to William Jacob Warves. They lived in Tamarack, Minn., and Atkin, Minn.; he preceded her in death in 1996. In her later years, Mildred moved to Stuart, Fla., where she resided for 37 years. She loved to cook, sew, crochet and knit.

She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Bernice (Herman) Zasmeta of Waukesha; her son, William (Linda) Warves of Emmett, Idaho; five grandchildren, Kim (Larry) Puzach, Kelly (John) Howard, Kristin (Paul) Reilly, Kurt (Kathy) Warves and Stacy Warves; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband William Warves, she was preceded in death by her four sisters, Irene, Clara, Margaurite and Cora, and her great-grandson, Joshua.

The family wishes to thank Oak Hill Terrace and Vitas Hospice for the compassionate care shown to Mildred over the years and especially the past two weeks. A special thank you to John Howard, director of adult ministry at RiverGlen Christian Church, for his thoughtful, spiritual care in her final days.

A private family burial will be held in Superior.
