Lois Sonnenberg of Waukesha died of complications of Alzheimer’s disease Sunday, April 3, 2011, surrounded by family at Waukesha Springs at the age of 81.
Lois was the kitchen manager for the Waukesha school system for more than 25 years, where she loved preparing food for the students of Waukesha. She loved to knit and make scarves, sweaters and afghans for her children and grandchildren. Her favorite passion was spending time with her family.
Lois will be deeply missed by her husband, Ervin, whom she married May 30, 1953; her children, William (Barbara) Sonnenberg of Oconomowoc and Kim (William) Boldon of Waukesha; her grandchildren, Scott Sonnenberg, Erica (Greg) Pauly, Samantha Sonnenberg, Michelle Boldon, Kyle (Amanda) Boldon and Anna (Eric) Cihlar; her great-grandchildren, Gabriel Cihlar, Rowan Cihlar and Wyatt Boldon; her sister, Dorothy Harmann of Mukwonago; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Gladys Adomaitis.
Visitation will be held from noon until the 1 p.m. funeral service Thursday, April 7, at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI 53188. Burial will immediately follow at Prairie Home Cemetery, Waukesha.
