Carl G. Weber


Carl G. Weber was born in Waukesha on Nov. 6, 1923.

He was a 1st lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force in World War II.

Carl attended Marquette University School of Engineering, graduating with honors with a degree in mechanical engineering and belonging to Tau Beta Phi, Phi Tau Sigma and Sigma Phi Delta engineering fraternity.

On Jan. 17, 1948, Carl married Connie Udulutch at St. Josephs Catholic Church inWaukesha, after which their nine children followed: Linda, Mary, Carl, Jennifer, Helen, Sharon, Evelyn, Alyce and Martha.

In 1948, he and his brother John Weber III along with their wives, Merle and Connie, obtained The Waukesha Community Hotel Company, later to become the Avalon Hotel, running the successful business for 20 years.

Along with his brother John, Carl was granted the Innkeepers of the Year Award by Gov. Warren Knowles in 1968.

Carl was the founder and charter treasurer of the Pebble Creek Flyers, elected to the Waukesha Police and Fire Commission for a 10-year term, and belonged to numerous organizations.
