Judith A. Geyer (nee Skjerping), 62, of Lake Tomahawk, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at Ministry St. Mary’s Hospital in Rhinelander. She was born Aug. 16, 1948, in Waukesha, to Adolph and Lucille Skjerping.
Judy was employed as a licensed practical nurse and later earned her degree in social work from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. She served as a social worker in Waukesha County and then was employed for 25 years as a social worker with the Oneida County Department of Social Services until her recent retirement.
Judy is survived by her husband, Herb Geyer of Lake Tomahawk; her brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Margaret Skjerping of Fountain Hills, Ariz., and their children, Tina and Matthew; her children, Herb (Kim) Geyer and Heidi Geyer; four grandchildren, Sara, Scott, Jaun Anthony and Jesse; a great-grandson, Gavin; and a great-nephew, Caleb.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation for Judy will take place from 3 p.m. until the time of a brief remembrance service at 4:45 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at Carlson Funeral Home, 134 N. Stevens St., Rhinelander
