William "Bill" J. Aschmann

March 17, 1913 - April 11, 2011

William "Bill" J. Aschmann, a lifelong resident of Waukesha, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family Monday, April 11, 2011, at the age of 98.

Bill was born March 17, 1913, the son of Frederick and Emma (Nuenke) Aschmann in Waukesha. He married Ruth (Kitzerow) on Aug. 24, 1946, in Milwaukee. Bill proudly served and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy. He was a lifetime member of the Evangelical and Reformed United Church of Christ and a member of the Elks Lodge No. 400. Bill retired from Wisconsin Motors in 1975 and loved hunting, fishing, bowling and especially golf.

Bill will be sadly missed by his wife of 64 years, Ruth; his children, Fred (Diane) of Whitewater, Janet Bingham of Utah and Nancy (Dewayne) Johnson of Waukesha. He is the loving grandfather of Paula, Tracie (Doug), Dan, Scott, Peter and Jennifer. Bill is further survived by four great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Katie.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Friday, April 15, at the Evangelical and Reformed United Church of Christ, 413 Wisconsin Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186. The Revs. James Gorman and Ralph Schultz will officiate. Private burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Gardens, Milwaukee.
