Loretta G. Humbert

Loretta G. Humbert , a resident of Big Bend, passed away at Webster Manor in Omro on Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at the age of 96. Loretta was born in Oshkosh on Dec. 14, 1914, the daughter of Amelia and William Brunn.

On Oct. 16, 1937, she married Robert J. Humbert. Loretta is survived by her daughter, Judith (Allen) Knurr of Omro; her son, Lawrence (Jane) Humbert of Northglenn, Colo.; her daughter, Sandra (John) Tex of Omaha, Neb.; eleven grandchildren, Rick, Kim, Timothy, Christopher, Kurt, Deborah, Barbara, Robert, Wade, Cynthia and Clay; 36 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Patricia Zuback of West Allis; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert, in March 2004; five brothers, four sisters, two nephews and one great-great-granddaughter.

Loretta was a lifetime member of Caldwell Methodist Church in Caldwell. She was active in the church’s many circles and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, quilting, embroidering, cross stitch and sewing. Loretta loved to spend time in her flower garden, but her greatest love was family time.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Saturday, April 16, at Schmidt & Bartelt-Van Valin Funeral Home, 315 Main St. (Highway ES) , Mukwonago. Burial will follow at Caldwell Cemetery in Caldwell.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Loretta’s name may be directed to the family for an established memorial.

The family would like to thank the staff of Webster Manor and Heartland Hospice for their loving care of Loretta. They would also like to thank Pastor Covach and Pastor Albrecht of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Winneconne for their ministry to Loretta.
