Bernard A. Williams

April 1, 1921 - April 16, 2011

Bernard A. Williams of Jefferson, formerly of Waukesha, died Saturday, April 16, 2011, at Alden Estates of Countryside Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Jefferson at the age of 90. He was born in Waukesha on April 1, 1921, the son of John R. and Emma (nee Barndt) Williams.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked for 36 years at Wisconsin Natural Gas until his retirement at the age of 62. He was a member of the VFW 5158 Hartland Marshall-Johnson Post

He will be sadly missed by his children, Norma (Robert) Tanner of Yakima, Wash., Richard "Rick" Williams of Palmyra and Todd Williams of Lombard, Ill., and his grandchildren, Shane Williams of Palmyra, Chad Williams of Watertown, Michelle Zastrow of Watertown and Jase Williams of Lombard. He is further survived by great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jane, on Sept. 17, 2003; his three sisters, Loretta, Leotta, Marcella; and his parents.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today, April 19, at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, at Prairie Home Cemetery. Please meet at the cemetery office.
