Theodore E. “Ted” Dobson of Waukesha passed away Friday, Aug. 5, 2011, surrounded by his family at Angels-Grace Hospice, at age 73. Ted was born Jan. 11, 1938, in Waterford, to Adolph and Naoma (nee Jones) Dobson.

Ted married his wife, Laurayne L. (nee Lerdahl), on June 7, 1958. Ted worked for more than 33 years at Waukesha Water Utility and retired in 1996. Ted enjoyed attending auctions and selling antiques. He and Laurayne loved traveling to California to visit their oldest daughter and her family, as well as traveling to Michigan to visit their oldest son and his family. Over the years, they were able to travel with and support their grandson’s Tae Kwon Do team. Ted cheered for his grandchildren while watching their activities – basketball, baseball, wrestling, volleyball, dance recitals, piano recitals, 4-H competitions and all of their other school activities.

Ted will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Laurayne; his children, Rochell (William) Gotham of Neenah, Robin (Kenneth) Ristau of Waukesha, Robert (Kristel) Dobson of Canton, Mich., and Roger (Rachelanne) Dobson of Johnson Creek; his eight grandchildren, Ashley, Alexandria, Arron, Kaya, Brianna, Andrea, Annah and Connor; his two great granddaughters, Robin and Sophia; his brothers, James “Jim” Dobson of Union Grove, Jerry (Sarah) Dobson of Jefferson, Duane (Darlene) Dobson of Jefferson and Mike (Cindy) Dobson of Boscobel; his sisters, Donna (Bill) Stark of Lake Mills, Margaret Wallin of Boscobel and Kathy (Ervin) Steiner of Jefferson; and his many other relatives and friends.
