Gerald D. Baker, 89, of Waukesha, passed away Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011, at Victorian Castle in New Berlin.
Gerald was born May 19, 1922, the son of the late Levi and Ednah (Malcomson) Baker. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Waukesha and a past member of the Eagle United Methodist Church and the Eagle Historical Society. In his early years, Gerald farmed in the Eagle and Watertown areas. Following farming, we went to work for Husco International and the Medical College of Wisconsin.
He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed baseball, bowling, fishing, hunting, gardening and animals.
Gerald is survived by his three devoted children, Larry of Waukesha, Bonnie Sallmann of Waukesha and Daniel (DawnMarie) of Brookfield; three adoring grandchildren, Cari (Jim) Racine, Sean Sallmann and Jeremy (Jenny) Sallmann; and four great-grandchildren, Maddi, Kyle, Chloe and Miranda. Gerald will be remembered by other relatives and many dear friends.
Gerald was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy and brother Howard.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the 6:30 p.m. funeral service Thursday, Aug. 18, at First United Methodist Church, 121 Wisconsin Ave., Waukesha, with the Rev. Dan Schwerin officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 19, at Little Prairie Cemetery in the township of Troy.
