Aurelia ‘Willie’ Lopez

Aurelia "Willie" Lopez of Waukesha died Friday, Aug. 26, 2011, surrounded by her family at AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc at age 80. She was born in Aledo, Texas, on June 15, 1931, the daughter of Enrique and Jesus (nee Ochoa) Garcia.

Aurelia worked for 48 years in the office at Waukesha Memorial Hospital doing medical transcribing. She loved to play guitar and sing and enjoyed being in a band. She also enjoyed playing billiards. She was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

She will be sadly missed by her children, RenŽ (Nancy) Lopez of Waukesha, Gilbert (Heidi) Lopez of Waukesha, Patty (Jesse) Dominguez of Dousman, Evita (John) Lopez of Waukesha, Lora Jean (Mark) Turkoski of Waukesha and Arthur (Patty) Lopez of Menomonee Falls; her grandchildren, Crystal (Eric) Johnson, John, Tony, Mario, Cristine, Jessica, Alyssia, Emilio, Travis, Matthew, Jenni, Nikki, Anna, Emma, Meghan, Chris, Nick, Crystallena and Felicianna; and her great-grandchildren, Elijah, Wesley, Savannah, Tyler, Branden and Deven. She is further survived by her brothers and sisters, Virginia (Pedro) Rodriguez of Waukesha, Henry (Olivia) Garcia of Waukesha, and Maria (the late Ezekiel) Benevidas of Santa Fe, N.M.; a special family friend, Lori Griego; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marcos, in 1988; her son, David, in 2009; her grandson, Michael, in 1993; her brothers, Salvador and Frank Garcia; her sisters, Marguerita Salazar and Josephine Hernandez; and her parents.

The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of AngelsGrace Hospice for the tender care extended to Aurelia during her stay.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m., at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Services continue on Thursday, Sept.1, with prayers at the funeral home beginning at 9:45 a.m. followed by a procession to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 N. East Ave., Waukesha, for a 10:30 a.m. funeral Mass. Graveside services will immediately follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
