George E. Herbrand

George E. Herbrand, a lifelong Waukesha resident, died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011, at Waukesha Springs at the age of 83. He was born Sept. 28, 1928, in Milwaukee, the son of Edward and Edna (nee Halwas) Herbrand.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1950 until 1952. On June 11, 1955, he married the former Norma Johnson at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Waukesha. For many years, he was the owner of East Side Market and then worked for various wholesale meat distributors.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Norma of Waukesha, along with their children, Jay (Laurie) Herbrand of California, Jon (Virginia) Herbrand of Oconomowoc and Joel (Heidi) Herbrand of Waukesha. He was the dear grandfather of Michelle (Jared), Jason, Jacob, Abby and Hannah and great-grandfather of AnnaMarie, Gabriel and Noah. He is further survived by his brother, Warren Herbrand of Waukesha, and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Audrey (Paul) Stier.
Visitation will take place from 1 p.m. until the 4 p.m. funeral service Saturday, Dec. 3, at Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Private family burial with military honors will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Christ the Servant Lutheran Church, 2016 Center Road, Waukesha, WI 53189.
