Donald C. Pirozzoli Sr. went home to our Lord on Nov. 27, 2011 at his home in Largo, Fla. Don is survived by his wife of 56 years, Elizabeth (nee Brahm); son Donald and wife Roberta (nee Summers); son Joseph and wife Mary (nee Gantenbein); son Jeffery and wife Kathryn (nee Rawlings); daughter Mary Donnelly; daughter Theresa Pirozzoli; and loving sister Joan Prelozni.

Don, a devoted grandfather, is also survived by his grandchildren, Erika Reith (daughter of Theresa); Miles and Grayson (sons of Jeffery and Kathryn); Anthony, Cecily and Marcus (children of Joseph and Mary).

Don was preceded in death by his father and mother, Michael and Catherine (nee Schmitz); his brothers Frederick and Edward; his sister Margaret Gerbensky.

Don spent his career dedicated to the education of children, serving as principal of Woodside, Brookside and Linfield Elementary Schools. He held a Master of Science degree in education administration from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He was the recipient of the "Administrator of the Year Award" for his many contributions specific to special education curriculum and programs.

Don was a veteran, having served his country with the Army during the Korean Conflict. He also served in the Wisconsin National Guard, 32nd division.

Following his retirement, Don became certified and volunteered with the Milwaukee Coast Guard Auxiliary. He also volunteered regularly at the Waukesha Training Center where he worked with individuals with developmental disabilities.

Visitation will be held from noon until the funeral Mass at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell Ave., Waukesha. The Mass will be followed by a reception/luncheon.
