Mary Maxine (Schaum) Brue

Mary Maxine (Schaum) Brue, age 71, passed away with her daughter at her side on Friday, Nov. 25, 2011.

She is survived by her brothers, Gerald "Jerry" (Gladys) Schaum and Victor "Vic" (Judy) Schaum; children, Brian (Kristen) Brue, Kelly Brue and Kevin Brue; granddaughters, Crystal (Erik), Lindsay, Kacie, Brianna and Gracie; and great-granddaughters, Mikayla and Zoey. She is further survived by nieces and nephews; her best friend, Marie Clark; her friend Judy; and other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack E. Brue; her parents, Maxwell Lewis and Mary Jane (Perriman) Schaum; and her brother, DeLos "Dee" Leroy Schaum.

Mary was born in Deer Lodge Montana on Oct. 13, 1940. Her family moved to Spokane, Wash., where she attended St. Francis of Assissi grade school and North Central High School. Fishing with her dad was one of her favorite things to do growing up. She graduated in 1959 and worked at Sacred Heart Hospital. She moved to Milwaukee in the 60s and was hired at Deaconess Hospital, where she met her best friend Marie and was introduced to her husband. Jack and Mary were married in 1967. They made a life in Pewaukee with their three children. Mary retired from a manufacturing career and loved spending time with her granddaughters and great-granddaughters. They miss her dearly.

A memorial service will be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, N50-W35181 Wisconsin Ave., Okauchee. Visitation will be at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 8, with a short service at 6 p.m. and meal to follow.
