George J. Majeskie

George J. Majeskie of Pewaukee and Winter Garden, Fla., died Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, at the age of 80. He was born June 6, 1931, in the Town of Brookfield, the son of Lawrence and Mary (nee Netteshiem) Majeskie.

George owned and operated George Majeskie Inc. from 1962 until he sold the business to his son in 1996, where he continued to be active. He played for the Land ‘o Lakes baseball league for 25 years, where he was also a coach and director. He was a Holy Name Member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waukesha.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Shirley (nee Mielke) of Pewaukee and Winter Garden; his children, Sandra Majeskie of Waukesha, Michael (Meri) Majeskie of North Prairie, Diane (Roman) Nowak of Muskego, Sharon Rodd-Majeskie of Bonita Springs, Fla., and Valerie Sullivan of Waukesha; his stepchildren, Steve (Becky) Wittmann of Waukesha, Todd (Pam) Wittmann of Menasha and Tony (Susan) Wittmann of Hilbert; his four grandchildren, Alex and Ami Majeskie and Joshua and Jonathon Nowak; his nine step-grandchildren, Josh, Bradley, Sarah, Brooke, Casey, Taylor, Nicole, Zachary and Andrew Wittmann; and one step-great-grandchild, Isabelle. He is further survived by his siblings, Gerry (Harley) Miner of Waukesha, Sister Michael Majeskie of Manitowoc, Muffy (Henry) Traver of Texas and Bill (Jean) Majeskie of Pewaukee, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Dolly Kissinger, Agnes Hoffman, Pat Houk, Petie Seeger and Bob, Romie and Larry Majeskie.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian burial Tuesday, Dec. 20, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 822 N. East Ave., Waukesha. A private family burial will be held Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.
