Leroy H. ‘Lee’ Ystad

Leroy H. ‘Lee’ Ystad of Tucson, Ariz., formerly of New Berlin and Waterford, died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011, after a brief but courageous battle with brain cancer. He was born in Milwaukee on July 22, 1942, to Lee and Dorothy Ystad.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Susy; his daughter, Kristin (Ed) Ksobiech; three grandsons, Tommy, Nick and Zak Ksobiech; a sister, Pat Schmidt; and a brother, Don (Linda) Ystad. He is further survived by his mother-in-law, Dorothy Boginski; two sisters-in-law, Janice Sorensen and Chris Ullman; a brother-in-law, Bob Boginski; his nieces, Cari Ullman and Alexis Boginski; a nephew, Mike (Cara) Ystad; and special cousin, Don (Connie) Schmidt.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jerry; and a grandson, Justin.
A memorial visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial funeral Mass on Thursday, Dec. 22, at St. Thomas Aquinas, 305 First St., Waterford. Inurnment will be at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery.
Lee retired from the city of New Berlin after 33 years. He was an avid sportsman who loved to hunt and fish. Lee was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who took great joy in the lives of his grandchildren.
He will be deeply missed by his family and his many friends in Wisconsin and Arizona. Special thanks to his wonderful Arizona friends, and to Chris, Dorothy, Kristi, Linda and Don for their special help during Lee’s illness, and to the Odyssey Hospice for their care in Lee’s final days.
