Orville, also known as Dutch because no one could pronounce his name, was a World War II Army veteran, having served in Africa, France and in Germany, where he helped set up the Army’s Retread Tire Depots. He served seven years and was discharged as a master sergeant and came home from service with a new German bride, Margot. He was a long-time member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waukesha and a lifetime member of the Soat-Vergenz VFW Post in Waukesha. Orville was a local contractor in Waukesha for many years.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 2, at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 380 Bluemound Road (at highways J and JJ, four blocks south of Interstate 94), Waukesha, with a VFW service at 5:45 p.m. and the funeral service at 6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, please do a favor for or donate money directly to a veteran in need that you know or who is in your life in memory of Dutch. It is what he would have wanted. Honor our veterans.
