Clinton Andrew Page, 91, of Guttenberg, Iowa, passed to be with his Lord
on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011. He was born Aug. 11, 1919, the son of the late
George and the late Millie (nee Kirby) Page in Check, N.D.
Born and raised in Sirus, N.D., he moved to Waukesha to attend Carroll
College. He served in the European theater during World War II and awarded
the Bronze Star. He was employed as a welder at Waukesha Foundry, retiring
in 1980, and moved to Sidnaw, Mich., of the Upper Peninsula were he and
his wife, Carol, enjoyed many delightful years building their dream home.
They were members of the United Methodist Church in Sidnaw. Clint was an
avid student of religious studies all his life and enjoyed many debates
and discussions on the meaning of "The End Times." He has
written a manuscript concerning his views, which he enjoyed sharing with
others.
He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Doris (nee Kroger); 13 children,
George A. (Jennie Bolender-Benton), Carol A. Smith (Michael), John W.
(Kathy Wirsbinski), Kirby A. (Audrey Johnson), Clinton D. (Sharon Moore),
Martha-Marti Paige, Edith Gazinski (David), Kathryn Hawthorne (Albert
Jr.), Marie-Dolly Faulkner (David), Margaret Lukowitz, Joel, Jay (Gisela
Grafenstein) and Michael (Kathy Bailey); 36 grandchildren; 44
great-grandchildren; and two greatgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol (Sayles); parents, George
Andrew and Millie Maude (Kirby); three brothers, Harold (Iva), Allen and
Wesley (Janet Sellers); five sisters, Mary-Helen Page, Charlotte Erickson
(Fred), Dorothy Klabo (George), Edith Johnson (Edward) and Hannah Mae
Nichols (Max); and two grandchildren, Rebecca Smith-Kujawa and Bruce Page.
Visitation will be held from noon until the 1:30 p.m. funeral service
Thursday, Feb. 3, at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home & Cremation Service,
207 S. First St., Guttenberg, Iowa. Interment will be at Sydnaw Cemetery
in Lanse, Mich.
