Richard
A. ‘Rich" Delikat of St. Francis died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011, at
Seasons Hospice in Waukesha at the age of 80. He was born in Milwaukee on
Jan. 27, 1931, to Orrin and Helga (nee Caspar) Delikat-Witt.
Richard was baptized at St. Martini Lutheran
Church in Milwaukee, confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cudahy
and was most recently a member at St. Lucas Lutheran Church in Bayview. He
served in the U.S. Army in Eritea, Africa, as a teletype transmitter from
1950 to 1953. Rich attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering, worked at
Badger Paint Store and The Hobby Shop in Cudahy, and later owned and
operated Clear View Thermopane until his retirement. He enjoyed ballroom
dancing, model train building and horticulture. He volunteered for the
lunch program at Wilson Park Senior Center.
Rich is survived by his children, Judy (John)
Panning, John (Kathy) Delikat and David (Jody) Delikat; grandchildren,
Lydia, Myra and Reyna Delikat; his sister, Jean (Donald) Villwock; and
numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by his brothers Kenneth and Carl Delikat.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the
11:30 a.m. funeral service Monday, Feb. 7, at St. Paul’s Lutheran
Church, 3775 E. Cudahy Ave., Cudahy. The Rev. Daniel Marshall will
preside. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park in Oak Creek.
