MUKWONAGO
Robyn A. Houk
May 9, 1951 – Feb. 4, 2011
Robyn
A. Houk of Mukwonago found peace Friday, Feb. 4, 2011, at the age of 59.
She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years,
Dan. She was the loving mother of Rachel (fiance Shawn Sutfin) Houk and
Alison (Dan) Schmeche; sister of Darrell (Jean) Cottrell; and
sister-in-law of Christine (Donald) Lang, Sue (Pete) Witterholt and Jeff
(Karen) Houk. Robyn is further survived by nieces, nephews, other
relatives and many friends.
Robyn attended Clarendon Avenue School in
Mukwonago and graduated from Mukwonago High School. She graduated from the
University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 1973 and began her teaching career
that same year at Clarendon Avenue School as a first-grade teacher. She
retired from Clarendon Avenue School after a 34-year career. She loved
teaching and endeared herself to her students. She would often receive
cards or letters from former students who were either in college or in the
military service.
Robyn married Dan, her high school sweetheart, in
1973. They have two daughters, Rachel and Alison. Robyn loved to spend
time with the girls just hanging out or, more often, shopping.
If you knew Robyn, you knew just how sweet and
caring she was. Throughout her battle with cancer she never gave up and
always greeted everyone with a smile and one of her famous hugs.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. with
a 8 p.m. prayer service Friday, Feb. 11, at Schmidt & Bartelt-Van
Valin Funeral Home, 315 Main St. (Highway ES), Mukwonago. Funeral services
