HARTLAND
Marian H. Brandt (nee Horwatich)
Jan. 18, 1926 – Feb. 15, 2011
Marian
H. Brandt (nee Horwatich) entered eternal life Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011, at
the age of 85. She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Joseph, who
she never stopped loving in the 52 years since his tragic death.
Born in Waukesha County, Marian grew up on a farm
in the Town of Lisbon. She graduated from Hartland High School. She was a
faithful member of St. Mary’s parish in Pewaukee and St. Charles
Catholic Church. For 42 years, she worked as a secretary for the guidance
counselors at Arrowhead High School, where she was usually the first
person incoming freshmen students/parents would met. Some called her the
"Face of Arrowhead".
She truly was a people person with the trademark
greeting, "God Bless You."
She is survived by her daughters, Judy Vermilyea
of Stoughton, Nancy (David) Simmerman of Waukesha, Diane (Frank) Busateri
of Milwaukee and Mary (Patrick) Walker of Hartland; and her grandchildren,
Lisa, Julie, Jenny, Joe, Mike, Nick, Molly, Peter, Matt, Dan, Maria and
Becky. She is further survived by nine great-grandchildren; her brother,
Max (Judy) Horwatich; and other relatives and many dear friends.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the
noon Mass of Christian burial Saturday, Feb. 19, at St. Charles Catholic
Church, 313 Circle Drive, Hartland. Her final rest will be in St. Mary’s
Cemetery, Pewaukee.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to
the Arrowhead Education Fund in memory of Marian Brandt, or the charity of
the donor’s choice.
