Mary Ann Kragenbrink
Dec. 24, 1943 – Feb. 13, 2011
Mary Ann Kragenbrink (nee Knopp), 67, of Dandridge, Tenn., went to be
with the Lord on Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011, with family at her side. She was
born Dec. 24, 1943, in Oconomowoc.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Clara (nee Janny)
Knopp.
She is survived by her husband, Roy; five children, Dan (Heather)
Kragenbrink of Whitestown, Ind., David (Bobbie) Kragenbrink of Waukesha,
Craig (Deborah) Kragenbrink of Juneau, Debra Kragenbrink (special friend
Gary Kutzler) of Watertown and Tracy (Marvin) Mutter of Dandridge; 14
grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Duke (Hattie) Knopp
of Holcombe; special cousin, Linda (Bob) Roberts of Dousman. She is
further survived by other relatives and friends.
After graduating high school, Mary worked for the Oconomowoc Canning
Company from 1964 to 1972 until she moved to Syracuse, N.Y. She operated
two beauty salons and was a bar owner/operator with her husband. In
1980, she moved back to Oconomowoc and worked at Stokely USA and helped
her husband start a hog farm operation, which they operated until 1990,
when they moved to Dandridge. Mary worked for the Smokey Mountain Knife
Works until her retirement.
She spent her life working with the church. She also helped start a
program knitting/donating blankets for newborns in the local hospitals
in Tennessee.
Her interests included making scrapbooks of her pride and joys, her
grandchildren, and knitting, crocheting, traveling, reading romance
novels and watching the Lifetime and Hallmark movie channels.
There will be a memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, at Holy
Trinity Lutheran Church in Newport, Tenn.
