Sandra L. Green
Sandra
L. Green, 71, a resident of Waukesha, peacefully passed away with family
at her side Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011, at Seasons Hospice after a
courageous battle with cancer.
Sandy will be dearly missed by her husband, Robert;
children, Deborah Jervis (Dean) Fabritz and Greg (Lisa) Jervis;
grandchildren, Kayla Jervis and Stephanie Jervis; stepchildren, Sue
(Rusty) Rustad, Tom Chiconas, John Chiconas, Toby (Joan) Chiconas, Richard
(Chris) Green, Robert (Patty) Green, Brian (Dawn) Green and Teri Dahnky;
13 step- grandchildren; brothers, Charles (Nancy) Hower and Richard (Karen)
Hower; niece, Mary Hower; nephew, John Hower; special friend, Paul Behnke;
and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and
Marion Hower; brother, Billy; and husband, Tony Chiconas.
For 27 years, Sandy worked as a cashier at the Sears
Automotive Center in Brookfield until 1993. She then joined Waukesha State
Bank, where she worked as a teller up until her retirement. She was a past
president of the VFW Post 721 Women’s Auxiliary and belonged to the DAV
Auxiliary, Chapter 65, in Florida. In recent years, the winter months were
spent by Sandy and Robert in Zephyrhills, Fla. Sandy had many interests
and hobbies, including quilting, reading, gardening, knitting, basket
weaving and collecting antiques. She belonged to a number of quilting
groups and the Zephyrhills Art Club.
Sandy was a member of St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran
Church, 424 Hyde Park Ave., Waukesha, where funeral services will be held
at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the
time of the service. A green burial will be at Prairie Home Cemetery in
Waukesha.
