SPOKANE, WASH.

Jane A. Nelson (nee Anderson) passed away peacefully Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011, at Sunshine Gardens Nursing Care Facility in Spokane, Wash., at age 90.

She was born Oct. 13, 1920, to Elsie and Eric Anderson at Augustana Hospital in Chicago. She lived there and met and married the one love of her life, Carl A. Nelson.

After having two children, they moved to Waukesha and lived there for about 20 years, then retired to Rogers, Ark., where Carl died in 1995. She later moved in 2009 to Spokane, where she resided at the time of her death.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eric and Elsie, and one grandchild, Alexis.

Jane is survived by two sons, Glen R. Nelson of Waukesha and Dale A. Nelson of Spokane, and her grandchildren, Heidi Downey of Spokane, Amy Mulqueen and Joel Nelson of Waukesha, Zachary Nelson of San Francisco, Ira Nelson of Portland, Ore., Alecia Grimes of Seattle and Eli Nelson of Idaho. She also is survived by her great-grandchildren, Samantha and Sabrina Downey, Sadie Nelson, Austin and Preston Nelson and Cassius and Alexis Grimes.

At her request, no services will be held and she will be interred next to her beloved Carl and her parents in Memorial Park Mausoleum in Skokie, Ill., at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family advises donations to the ALS Society of Wisconsin.
