Stanley
F. Rachwal, 85, of New London, died early Sunday morning, Jan. 2, 2011,
at Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca.
Stanley was born in Milwaukee on Sept. 7, 1925, the son of the late
Alois and Frances Rachwal. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on Oct. 19,
1945, and served until his honorable discharge Nov. 9, 1946. On Oct. 18,
1947, he married his wife, Florence Grobe, in Big Bend. Stanley farmed
in Waukesha County until 1971 when Stanley and Florence purchased the
farm outside of New London. He retired in 1991.
Stanley enjoyed woodworking, fixing machinery, working outside and doing
field work. He will be especially remembered for his quick wit!
He is survived by his wife, Florence; children, Rebecca (Walter)
Wiedrich, Roberta “Robbie” Rachwal, Steven Rachwal, Stewart Rachwal,
Steffan Rachwal and Sterling Rachwal; two granddaughters, Bobbie Jo
Trambauer and Rachel McKeever; great-granddaughter, Kayla Trambauer; one
brother, Edward (Eileen) Rachwal; and many other nieces, nephews,
relatives and friends.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Tracey; and
brother, Joseph Rachwal.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service
Thursday, Jan. 6, at Cline and Hanson Funeral Home, 209 W. Cook St., New
London, with the Rev. Greg Watling officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are preferred.
