Ione M. Conant of Waukesha died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011, at Ruth Hospice in West Allis at the age of 84. She was born May 7, 1926, in Waukesha, to William and Arlyn (nee Drum) Jorgenson.

She was a 1944 graduate of Waukesha High School. On Sept. 4, 1947, she married George Conant in Bessemer, Mich. She worked in the bakery at Sentry Foods for more than 20 years. She was a lifelong member of St. Lukes Lutheran Church.

She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Gail (Richard) Hartung of Lava Hot Springs, Idaho, and Debbie (Scott) Bednarek of New Berlin. She was the dear grandmother of Alex (Kathy) Obradovich of West Allis, Amber Obradovich of Waukesha and Beth (Hamlet) Soria of Salt Lake City, Utah, and the loving great-grandmother of Kaitlyn, Jessica, Logan, Sadie and Gianna. She is further survived by her sisters, Mae Jean Kanters of Waukesha, Billie (Bob) Lemke of Wisconsin and Diane (Harlow) Scherf of Minocqua, and nieces, nephews and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George, on Sept. 5, 2009; and a sister, Eileen Lamp.
