Carol L. Waldman, 81, of Janesville, passed away Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011, shortly after arrival at Mercy Hospital & Trauma Center. Carol was born on Oct. 16, 1929, in South Beloit, Ill., the daughter of Clarence and Edna (Rowe) McDonald.

Carol married Robert F. Waldman on Aug. 21, 1948. Carol was employed in the payroll department at General Motors for more than 38 years. She was a member of Janesville Rebekah Lodge No. 26, Kienow-Hilt V.F.W. Auxiliary No. 1621, Women of the Moose Lodge No. 477 and was a past president of the Janesville chapter of A.B.W.A.

Carol Waldman is survived by two children, Katherine L. Gasser of Waukesha and Robert J. Waldman of Janesville; four grandchildren, Kyle Robert Gasser (Megan), Caroline Louise Gasser, Lindsey K. Asay (Matthew) and Joseph Robert Waldman; four great-grandchildren, Anthony Joseph Cullton, Kielyee Asay, Jordan Rose Gasser and Josephine Elizabeth Gasser; and her granddog, Louie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, on Dec. 11, 2003. Also preceding her in death were her parents and seven brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Tuesday, Jan. 18, at the Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jerry Amstutz officiating. Private entombment will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park Mausoleum.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials are preferred to the Phantom Lake YMCA Camp, Mukwonago, in Carol’s name.
