Lee R. ‘Bill’ Gavigan
July 19, 1919 – Jan. 15, 2011
Lee
R. “Bill” Gavigan passed away peacefully Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at age
91 surrounded by his loving family.
Lee married Catherine R. (nee Dempsey) on Sept. 28, 1944, and was her
devoted husband and dearest friend for 66 years.
Lee was a loving father to William Gavigan, Mary Kay (Alan)
Christiansen, Lynn (Douglas) Mueller and Kelly (Keith) Korb, all of
Mukwonago; proud grandpa of Michael (Amanda) Christiansen, Matthew
(Samantha) Christiansen, Kay Leigh (Matthew) Sockrider, Nicole Gavigan (fiance
Brice McKendry), Sean Gavigan and Jesse Korb; and great-grandpa to
Gavin, Chase, Gabriel, Madalyn, Macey, Sawyer, Cole and Mila. He is
further survived by other loving relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur P. Gavigan and Viola
Olson, and his brother, Jack (Beatrice) Gavigan.
Lee was born in Waukesha on July 19, 1919. Upon graduation from Carroll
College in 1941, he entered the U.S. Naval Midshipmen’s School at Notre
Dame and served as a naval officer in the Pacific until the end of World
War II. For many years, Lee had a private CPA practice in Waukesha. |
A special heartfelt thanks to the caring staff of LindenGrove Nursing
Home in Waukesha and Asera Care Hospice.

appreciated.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25,
at St James Catholic Church, 830 Highway NN East, Mukwonago, with a Mass
of Christian burial at 11 a.m. A 1:15 p.m. inurnment will follow at St.
Joseph Cemetery (at East Broadway and Highway 164), Waukesha. Please
meet at the cemetery chapel.
