Frederick ‘Fred’ Becker Jr.

Frederick "Fred" Becker Jr., 51, of Irma, died Thursday, July 21, 2011, at his home. He was born March 1, 1960, in Waukesha, to the late Frederick H. and Shirley L. (David) Becker Sr.

Fred worked as a senior master mechanic for Breaman Merrill Ford Dealership; he had been a mechanic since he was 16. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, watching NASCAR races, camping, boating, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Fred was a member of the Buck Masters, the Northway Club and Ford Motor Company Professional Technician Society.

Survivors include his four children: Amanda (Ryan) Page, Ogema; Heather (Nicholas) Sims, Greenfield; Amber (Michael) Blocker, Irma; and Jake Becker, Irma; six grandchildren: Landon, Sawyer, Danica, Amelia, Anabel and Mackensie; brother, David (Joan) Becker, Germantown; sister, Lynn (David) Tordsen, Irma, nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Shirley Becker Sr.

Services will be held at 12 p.m. Monday, July 25, 2011, at Waid Funeral Home, 301 S. Eagle Drive, Merrill. The Rev. Rodney Price will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 24, 2011, and again from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday before the service, all at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
