Donald W. ‘Don’ Collom

Donald W. "Don" Collom, formerly of Eagle, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2011, in The Villages, Fla., where he and his wife Janice have lived for the past seven years.

Don was born in Parke County, Ind., near Rockville, Ind., on Feb. 20, 1941, and spent his growing up years in and around Frankfort, Ind. He and Janice have also lived in Weyauwega and Eagle in Wisconsin and Waleska, Ga., prior to retirement. He was a former member of St. Theresa Catholic Church and his interests included woodworking, old country music, vintage cars, cooking and was an accomplished handyman.

He is survived by his wife, Janice of The Villages; sons, John (Kay) Collom of Weyauwega and Jeffery (Marie) Collom of Eagle; sister, Patricia (Ron) Lashbrook of La Grange, Ga.; and his grandchildren, Amanda Collom (Jeremy LaSure), Lindsay Collom, Gresham Collom, Cheyenne Collom, Sioux Collom and Luke Collom.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paxton Collom; mother, Ruth (White); stepmother, Violet Collom; sister, Joyce Laws; nieces, Sandra and Susan Laws; nephews, Wade Laws and Curt Lashbrook.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the noon memorial prayer service Saturday, June 11, at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Eagle. Attendees are invited to attend a luncheon at the Eagle Legion Hall after the memorial service.
