Ernest J. ‘Ernie’ Farkas

Ernest J. "Ernie" Farkas, a lifelong resident of Waukesha, passed away Friday, June 24, 2011, lovingly surrounded by his family at his home, at the age of 72. Ernie was born Dec. 22, 1938, the son of Stephen and Josephine Farkas.

He married the love of his life, Judith M. "Judy" (nee Gallitz) Farkas, on Dec. 2, 1961. Ernie proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He worked for the Allen Bradley Company for more than 35 years. Ernie was a volunteer firefighter and EMT for the Town of Brookfield and Stone Bank. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting and playing cards and was an avid reader. Ernie was a very outgoing person, always willing to help a friend, and he kept up with all the current news.

Ernie will be sadly missed by his wife of almost 50 years, Judy; his children, Scott (Susan) Farkas of Waukesha and Keith Farkas of Waukesha; four grandchildren; brothers, Steve, Sig and Frank Farkas; sister, Mary Farkas; brother-in-law, Jerry Gallitz; and his four-legged friend, "Chuckie."

Ernie was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Val Farkas.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the 6 p.m. funeral service Wednesday, June 29, at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. Burial will be private.
