Lucretia M. Balistreri (nee Sanfelippo), a resident of
Butler, was born April 13, 1922, and died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011 at the
age of 88.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Balistreri; her parents, Joseph and Rose Sanfelippo; and her sister, Rose
Sanfelippo.
She was the dear mother of Vincinnette (Jack) Raue;
loving grandmother to James (Bonnie) Vaughn and Andrew Vaughn;
great-grandmother to Mason and Henry Vaughn; and "Grandma Lou" to
Ed (Andrea) Raue, Quinn, Payton and Keely, Scott (fiancée Lindsay
Ostrowski) Raue and Doug (girlfriend Cori Bucher) Raue. She will always be
remembered and missed by her five sisters and two brothers, Mary
Balistreri, Frank (Betty) Sanfelippo, Sal (Peggy) Sanfelippo of
California, Josephine Lococo (Joe) of Florida, Katherine (Robert) Miller
and Ida (Mario) Crivello. She is further remembered by nieces, nephews,
other relatives and dear friends.
Visitation to be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday,
March 2, at Harder Funeral Home, 18700 W. Capitol Drive, with parish vigil
at 7 p.m. Friends may join the family Thursday, March 3, at St. Jude the
Apostle Church, 734 Glenview Ave., Wauwatosa, for a Mass of Christian
burial at 10:30 a.m. Her committal and burial will take place at Wisconsin
Memorial Park, immediately followed by a reception and luncheon for family
and friends.
Lucretia was a volunteer at St. Ann’s Nursing Home for
20-plus years in their country store and was also a volunteer at the
Riverwest Food Pantry for 10-plus years.
