Melba
C. Malmquist, 92, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, at AngelsGrace
Hospice in Oconomowoc.
Melba was born July 1, 1918, in Arlington, Minn. She
spent her early childhood and teen years in Poplar.
Melba worked for many years at Lavelle Rubber Plant in
Burlington. She later moved to Waukesha, where she was first employed at
Amron and then at Aqua-Chem.
Melba loved gardening, was an avid reader and enjoyed
listening to music and watching "old time" movies. She loved
spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and
great-grandchildren.
Her grandchildren include Chris (Dave) Gross, Brian
(Lyn) Edwards, Eric Edwards and Shelley (Mike) Dubis. Her
great-grandchildren include Emily and Josh Gross, Dane and Travis Edwards
and Sally Dubis. All together, she has a total of 11 grandchildren and 12
great-grandchildren.
Melba is survived by her sons, James, Leslie and Keith;
daughters, Barbara (Jim) Edwards and Debbie; and sons, Rudy and Dick Grube.
She is also survived by her sister, Hildegard, and her brother, Orville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters,
Dorothy, Cornelia, Phyllis and Lucille; and a brother, Leslie.
A memorial service will be held at a later date for the
immediate family and relatives.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the
staff at "The Virginia," Waukesha Memorial Hospital, Dr. Touzios
and AngelsGrace Hospice.
