Jo Anne Phillips
Jo Anne Phillips, 81, of Dousman, passed away peacefully
Monday, Feb. 28, 2011.
Jo Anne is survived by her loving children, Dan (Jane)
Phillips of Minneapolis and Jane Phillips of Ottawa. Special in her heart
were her grandchildren, Michael Phillips, Hunter White, Annie Phillips and
Bob Phillips, along with many relatives and friends.
Jo Anne was preceded in death by sister, Lorraine
Strand, and her beloved granddaughter, Kelly Phillips.
Jo Anne grew up in Shenandoah, Iowa, and was a 1951
graduate of Drake University where she was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma.
She lived in Storm Lake, Iowa, most of her adult life, finally retiring in
1994 after 30 years of teaching elementary school. After retirement, she
volunteered at the Buena Vista Medical Hospital and the historical Harker
House. Jo Anne was a member of the United Methodist Church while in Storm
Lake and was given special recognition for her service to the church. She
was very proud to be a past president and 63 year member of P.E.O. In
2003, Jo Anne moved to Three Pillars in Dousman to be closer to her
family.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m.
memorial service Saturday, March 5, at Three Pillars in the Ewald Chapel,
365 Sunset Drive, Dousman.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at Three
Pillars for their care and compassion, as well as the wonderful friends
that made her time there some of the best years of her life.
