Phyllis M. Carpenter

Phyllis
M. Carpenter of New Berlin died suddenly Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at her
home at the age of 83. Phyllis was born May 26, 1927, the daughter of
William and Flora Lord.
She married the love of her life, Daniel "Dan" Carpenter on July
16, 1949, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Bayview. Phyllis
retired from Wisconsin Bell after 20 years of dedicated service and was a
member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and a devoted volunteer to the
Muscular Dystrophy Association Annual Telethon at the Waukesha Center. She
was a "sports grandma," who was an avid Packers fan. Phyllis
also enjoyed playing cards, reading and collecting crystal bells and
candles. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family – especially
her grandkids and great-grandkids.
Phyllis will be dearly missed by her children, David (Patricia) Carpenter
of Waukesha, Daniel "Danny" (Pamela) Carpenter of Brookfield,
Dennis (Sue) Carpenter of Nashotah, Susan "Susie" Carpenter (Ted
Mastos) of Hudson, Sally (Anthony) Gapinski of Waukesha, Paula (Mitch)
Hintz of Waukesha and Peter (Lisa) Carpenter of Wauwatosa; grandchildren,
Jay, Ryan, Matthew (Melissa), Daniel II, Chad (Julie) and Kyle Carpenter,
Trista (Keith), Troy, Taryn and Tiarra Mae Gapinski, and Joshua, Jeremy
and Joseph Hintz; great-grandchildren, Ty Carpenter, Alexandra Gapinski,
Taven and Kaelyn Putnins; and brother, David (the late Marge) Lord of
Neillsville. Phyllis is further survived by other relatives and many
friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel "Dan";
grandson, Christopher; parents; and two brothers, William and Marvin.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service
Friday, March 11,at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home,
237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. Entombment will be at St. Adalbert
Catholic Cemetery, Milwaukee.
