June M. Roberts
June 12, 1930 – March 18, 2011
June M. Roberts of Oconomowoc passed away peacefully surrounded by
family Friday, March 18, 2011, at AngelsGrace Hospice. She was born June
12, 1930, in Gary, Ind., the daughter of John and Veronica (Vernie)
Dienes.
June grew up in Gary and upon graduation from Marquette University, she
married William (Bill) Roberts and shortly thereafter moved to the
Oconomowoc area.
June worked as an RN at Oconomowoc, Watertown and Rogers Memorial
Hospitals. In addition, she worked at Shorehaven Nursing Home and
finished her last 15 years of her nursing career in the home health care
field.
June was a member of St. Joan of Arc parish, where with her husband,
Bill, started the CCD program for the grade school and high school
students. She was also instrumental in the formation of the Oconomowoc
Nursery School back in the early 1960s. In addition, she was active in
both the Girl Scout and Boy Scout programs as a troop leader.
June loved playing bridge with her monthly bridge groups and getting
together with her close Marquette University nursing classmates for
their monthly luncheons.
June was preceded in death by her son, Brian; her husband, Bill; her
parents; and her son-in-law, Walter Beverung.
June will be missed by her children, Anne Marie Beverung of Oconomowoc,
Colleen of Oak Park, Ill., Deborah (Joseph) Misanin of Great Falls, Va.,
Eric (Melanie) of Milwaukee, Felice of Oconomowoc and Gwynne of
Pewaukee. She is also mourned by her grandchildren, William (Will)
Beverung; Benjamin (Benji), Rebecca (Becki) and Elizabeth (Buffy)
Misanin; and Caroline and Chloe Roberts; her brother, Jack (MaryAnne
deceased) Dienes of Merrillville, Ind.; and many other relatives.
She will be deeply missed by her friends and forever by her family.
Visitation services will be held from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday, March
28, at Pagenkopf Funeral Home, 1165 E. Summit Ave., Oconomowoc, and at
St. Joan of Arc in Nashotah on Tuesday, March 29, from 10 a.m. until 11
a.m., with the funeral Mass and then burial at St. Joan of Arc Cemetery
immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Columbia St. Mary’s
Regional Burn Center (Milwaukee), Marquette University Scholars Fund –
College of Nursing or the St. Joan of Arc Matching Fund.
